LENAPE VALLEY LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL COACHING POLICIES 2025

 It is the goal of Lenape Valley Little League to have a manager with two assistant coaches on every team. Therefore, we encourage volunteer participation in order to achieve this goal. In an effort to develop the children, we hope to have at least 1-2 coaches on every team with prior baseball knowledge. However, this is not a pre-requisite of volunteering for coaching.

All managers and coaches are Rutgers certified. We also have all of our managers and coaches attend an annual coaching clinic. Criminal background checks are also performed on all managers and coaches.

When you volunteer to be a coach, you are acting as an example for the children of our organization. All managers and coaches remain subject to the parental code of conduct and disciplinary action of the Lenape Valley Little League Board as needed.

All  Lenape Valley Little League Managers, Coaches, Assistant Coaches and any Volunteers helping on the field are required to be certified through the Rutgers Clinic.

  You MUST Pre-Register with to be enrolled in the class. Walk-Ins will not be accepted. Space is limited so please register as soon as possible.

ALL COACHES MUST BE RUTGERS CERTIFIED TO COACH A BASEBALL TEAM.

BACKGROUND CHECKS and FINGERPRINTING REQUIRED 

All coaches must have fingerprints and a background check conducted through Identico. These records are valid for five (5) years.

ABUSE AWARENESS TRAINING

Lenape Valley Little League, in accordance with Little League international will require yearly Abuse Awareness Training  for all volunteers that interact with the kids.  USA Baseball currently offers a free online abuse awareness training. 

All training certificates must be returned prior to the start of the Spring Season. 

Directions for Abuse Awareness for Adults Course Completion:

Create an Account or Sign in to USABDevelops.com
-Go to USABDevelops.com or download the USA Baseball app in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
-Click “Sign in/Register”
-Enter all required information
Select your league from the “Little League – Local Leagues” drop-down menu (Lenape Valley Little League) and click “+Join”
If you have an existing account, click your name in the top right corner, select MY ACCOUNT, and then UPDATE MY PROFILE to   link your account with your local Little League.

Complete Abuse Awareness for Adults course*
-Click EDUCATION
-Select COURSES
-Click “Abuse Awareness for Adults” → “+Enroll” → “Go to Course”
-Complete the course
*If you have completed the Abuse Awareness for Adults course in the past and need an updated certificate,  please select the Restart Course button.
-Click your name in the top right corner and select MY ACCOUNT
-Select COURSES
-Scroll to the Abuse Awareness for Adults course and click RESTART COURSE

Download Certificate
-Click your name in the top right corner and select MY ACCOUNT
-Select COURSES
-Scroll to the Abuse Awareness for Adults course and click DOWNLOAD CERTIFICATE
-Email a copy of the certificate to Lenape Valley Little League
-Upload your certificate to your Volunteer Profile in your My Account page on SportsConnect/Lenape Valley LIttle League site
